Higher Education/Doctorate

In case of direct entry into Germany, Brazilian citizens do not need a visa for a higher education in Germany. This rule only applies to people who will study at a German higher education institution as an enrolled student.

Therefore, a Brazilian student who is already properly enrolled in a German university, regardless of the course (whether undergraduate, exchange, postgraduate, doctorate or other), does not need a visa, just a residence permit to stay for more than 90 days.

Required documents:
• A valid passport;
• Proof of sufficient funds for expenses abroad;
• Confirmation of health insurance with a minimum coverage of €30,000;
• Letter of enrolment, admission or scholarship to study at a German university.
